What we collect

Your name, mobile number, email, address and town; your pets' details, routines, vet and health notes; home access instructions; visits, report cards and photos; visit check-in and check-out times and the route driven during visits; payment status (card and bank numbers are handled by our payment processor, Stripe, and never stored by Hazel); and basic technical data like your IP address, used for security.

How we use it

To give you prices, schedule and carry out visits, send updates and photo reports, bill you, keep your account secure, prevent abuse, and improve our service. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

Text messages

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We keep a record of when and how you opted in. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.

Home access codes

Lockbox, door and garage codes are encrypted, used only for your visits, and deleted when you end service. Every time a code is viewed, it is logged.

Who we share with

Only the services that help us run Hazel (hosting, database, payments, email and text delivery), each bound to protect your data, or when the law requires it.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies today. If we add website analytics or advertising tools, we will update this policy first.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your account while you are a client and for up to 3 years after (longer only where tax or legal records require it). Texting consent records are kept for 5 years as proof of opt-in. You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information anytime: hello@hazelpetcare.com.

Security

Logins use one-time texted codes (no passwords to steal), login codes and sessions are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, data travels encrypted, and only Hazel's server can reach the database. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as New Jersey law requires.

Children

Hazel is for adults booking pet care. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
